Recent prominent cases include Brown v Metropolitan Police Commissioner [2019] EWCA Civ 1724 (no automatic QOWCS protection for a personal injury claimant who includes other causes of action in the claim). Parker v Chief Constable of Essex [2019] 1 WLR 2238 (a person who is unlawfully arrested is nevertheless entitled only to nominal damages if he would have been arrested lawfully had the police realised their mistake) and Hewson v Metropolitan Police Commissioner [2018] 4 WLR 69 (no breach of the ECHR in sending a prevention of harassment letter). We provide timely and realistic advice and effective representation at all levels from junior tenants to leading silks. We are equally at home in proceedings before judges or juries and we also have experience in public disciplinary work.
