Personal Injury group expert seminar series

We are delighted to announce that we are organising a series of seminars on Chronic Pain; Fraudulent Claims; and Stress at Work in June and July this year.

Each seminar will be centred around experts who, in conjunction with barristers from 1 Chancery Lane, will provide an introduction to the topic and discussion of particular issues that arise. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions.

Chronic Pain: Tuesday 4th June 2019

Guest speaker Dr Jon Valentine, Consultant in Pain Medicine and barrister Laura Johnson.

Dr Valentine MB ChB FRCA FFPMRCA FRCP is one of the most sought after experts in the field of pain management, complex regional pain and chronic pain generally. His evidence is usually decisive in these claims and he is known for being balanced and yet highly persuasive. Dr Valentine will provide an invaluable insight into these claims, covering both Claimant and Defendant concerns and practical advice at all stages of the litigation process.

The session will be chaired by Edward Bishop QC.

Fraudulent Claims: Thursday 13th June 2019

Guest speaker His Honour Judge Alan Saggerson, and barrister Simon Trigger.

Judge Saggerson is one of her Majesty’s Circuit Judges and a Deputy High Court Judge. Judge Saggerson sits predominantly in the County Court at Central London. Before his appointment to the Bench he was a highly regarded civil barrister specializing in complex personal injury litigation.

The session will be chaired by Jack Harding.

Stress at Work: Wednesday 3rd July 2019

Guest speaker Dr Trevor Friedman, Consultant Psychiatrist, and barrister Saleem Khalid..

Dr Friedman BSc MB BS FRCPsych is a leading and practicing expert in the field of psychiatry, with particular experience and expertise in stress at work claims.

Dr Friedman provides reasoned opinions that can be relied upon to find favour with judges. He will provide an analysis of these claims, discussing the common pit-falls in the complex area and suggesting the best practice for how to deal with stress at work claims.

The session will be chaired by Andrew Warnock QC.

These seminars are priced at £30 + VAT each, £50 + VAT for two or £70 + VAT for all three. Places are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
