Ella has a busy court practice and acts for claimants, local authorities, police forces, tour operators and NHS Trusts.

Ella practises across the field of personal injury, including in cross border claims. She has significant trial experience and is regularly instructed in cases involving allegations of fundamental dishonesty. Ella has experience in cases involving chronic pain and traumatic brain injury.

Ella acts in a wide range of clinical negligence claims. She has advised in cases involving injuries at birth, the application of Montgomery to cosmetic procedures and the defence of illegality. She is regularly instructed to settle pleadings in cases raising issues of failure to diagnose, poor surgical technique, and failure to obtain informed consent. Ella also acts as junior counsel in high value and complex claims.

Ella has a special interest in, and experience of, civil actions against the police including claims for false imprisonment and malicious prosecution. She has also advised in relation to police misconduct proceedings.

Ella has particular expertise in claims arising out of Japanese Knotweed infestations including claims in nuisance, misrepresentation and professional negligence.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Ella worked for the Free Representation Unit representing clients in the Employment Tribunal as well as in CICA and Social Security appeals. She appeared in the Employment Appeal Tribunal and successfully represented the claimant in a four day pregnancy discrimination claim. She continues to act in claims brought under the Equality Act 2010.
