He regularly appears for both claimants and defendants in fast and multi-track litigation. His practice is geographically wide-ranging. He is regularly instructed by solicitors throughout England and Wales in relation to both County Court and High Court claims.
Within his personal injury practice, Ben has a special interest in employers’ liability claims, claims against public authorities and claims involving animals, although his work within this field includes a wide range of other matters. His work regularly involves matters arising from very serious injury and resulting in profound disability, as well as claims made under the Fatal Accidents Act 1976.
He is regularly instructed in relation to fraudulent personal injury and credit hire claims and low velocity injuries allegedly arising from road traffic accidents. His recent work in this field has included claims involving allegations of “phantom” passengers as well as those relating to staged and induced accidents.
Ben’s recent instructions in the field of clinical negligence have included claims related to defects in medical devices, failed sterilisation, defective dental treatment and incorrectly prescribed medications. His work also includes claims arising from a wide range of surgical specialties, including orthopaedics, ophthalmics and gynaecology.
His professional negligence practice also regularly involves instructions relating to the under-settlement of travel, personal injury and ancillary relief claims.
He also has significant experience in claims involving the Motor Insurers Bureau and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.
Ben is very happy to provide advice on a CFA basis. He is also instructed regularly in relation to costs-related issues arising from both CFAs and privately funded claims.
