News | Wed 29th Nov, 2017

1 Chancery Lane has, once again, been recognised in the Legal 500 as one of the leading UK sets across core areas of Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, Professional Negligence, Police Law and Travel Law.

The set is described as: ‘a very impressive range of counsel’ across the civil common law spectrum. In particular, chambers is recommended for personal injury, clinical negligence, professional negligence, police and travel law, among other areas. ‘The barristers are of a consistently high standard and they provide an excellent service, and on that basis, this is a second-to-none set.’ Counsel are backed up by ‘a smooth and effective clerks’ room’, which is a ‘real asset to chambers’ and ‘one of the best clerking teams in the country’. ‘Inimitable’ senior clerk Clark Chessis is supported by ‘star’ first junior David Barrow, and together, they ‘run a tight ship’; ‘they always deliver what they say they will, and recommendations on counsel are always appropriate and well considered’. ‘Nothing is too much trouble and no other set can touch them for the service they provide’.

The 2017 entries made particular note of the set’s expertise in Police Law and Travel Law – with 1 Chancery Lane leading the way in these two newly set-up categories.
